Cam is for Cameron Jerrell Newton, the number 1 NFL Draft pick for 2011. Cam, the Heisman Trophy winner, was born May 11, 1989 in College Park, Georgia and is the son of Cecil Newton, Sr., ex Dallas Cowboy strong safety. Cam Newton is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. He played college football for the Auburn Tigers. Cecil Newton, Jr. is Cam’s older brother, a former center for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL.

Cam transferred to Blinn College from Florida Gators and helped Blinn College win national junior college football championship. Following that success, Auburn University’s head coach Gene Chizik, recruited Cam.

Cam Newton’s stats to date are impressive as he became just the third player in major college football history to both rush and pass for 20 or more touchdowns in a single season. This performance earned him the Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding college football player.
